Bristol-based insurer National Friendly has re-launched its telephone-based advice service with plans to target an older demographic.
National Friendly Financial Solutions first launched as a subsidiary of the mutual society more than ten years ago, advising on pensions and retirement planning, investment planning and savings, trust and estate planning and protection.
The business also offers a non-advised product comparison service, for which there is no-upfront cost for the client but rather National Friendly Financial Solutions is paid commission from the provider.
As a wider group National Friendly is focused on the over 50s market and Wayne Carter, head of sales and marketing at the insurer, said there was a gap in the market for a specialist adviser with a focus on an older age demographic.
Mr Carter added: "For some, this is not a glamorous market sector, but for us, it is very important and supporting the market fits perfectly with our heritage."
