We offer a mortgage advice service to take that confusion away, where we will research the mortgage deals across the market, taking into account your situation, interest rates and fees, to help find the mortgage deal and lender that suits you best.

Please note we don’t advise on commercial mortgages.

What is a mortgage?

A mortgage is a loan from a bank or lender to buy property or land. When you take out a mortgage, you make a promise to repay the money you’ve borrowed, plus an agreed-upon interest rate.
The loan is ‘secured’ against the value of your home until it’s paid off. If you can’t keep up your repayments the bank or lender can take back your home and sell it so they get their money back.
Most run for 25 years but the term can be shorter or longer.
You will also need to pay a deposit, a lump sum that goes towards the cost of the property you’re buying. The more deposit you have, the lower your interest rate might be.

What is a buy to let mortgage?

A buy-to-let mortgage is a mortgage sold to people who are buying property as an investment, rather than as a place to live.
If you plan to rent out a property, most lenders will prefer you not to use a standard residential mortgage.
Not everyone is eligible to take out a buy-to-let mortgage and they require deposits of between 25% and 40%.
